Multi-award winning international company Aracaladanza consistently delights audiences throughout Europe with their extraordinarily magical dance theatre made especially for children and families.

In Constellations, choreographer Enrique Cabrera has taken the brilliantly abstract work of artist Joan Miró as his starting point and repeatedly fills his imaginary blank canvas with vivid colours, shapes and movement. Wonderful dance, ingenious puppetry and terrific digital visuals are delivered with the trademark playfulness, creativity and style which mark this company out as one of the most accessible, and one of the best.

“Breathtakingly beautiful. My 4 year old commented Wow it’s magic.”

Audience Members on Nubes (Clouds), Aracaladanza 2012

“Both children and adults said it was one of the best performances they had seen and were all so excited by it… both in the ideas that were conveyed and also the visual effects.”

Pupils and teachers from Ranelagh Primary School, Ipswich on Nubes (Clouds) at the Jerwood DanceHouse, 2012

Suitable for 4+ and families
Running time: approximately 55 minutes (no interval)

PRE & POST SHOW FAMILY FRONT OF HOUSE ACTIVITIES

Families are invited to come along to MOKO’s Artists Quarter where they can paint their own masterpiece inspired by the amazing Spanish surrealist painter Joan Miró, to be displayed in the foyer gallery and posted online.

Should you wish to get acquainted with Miro’s style prior to your theatre visit, please click here to view examples of his artwork.

The Front of House art-based activities are free. They are open to all fun and art-loving people and suitable for children aged 4yrs+ and grown-ups alike. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. No booking required.
